Well here goes another attempt of as the wheel turns at Mad Dog Speedway. This past week with the weather being perfect all day and having a nice holiday weekend for racing the stage was set for some fun times. The crowd was light during the early stages but filled in nicely and then the best surprise of the evening was the SIXTEEN Sportsman modifieds that showed up to do battle in only the divisions third outing this season. Other points of interest for the new division were the fact that many other limited modified drivers were on hand to check out what the new division has to offer and came over to ask for details which is always nice and we were able to secure two more drivers from Stafford motor Speedway for upcoming shows and had one from Twin State also throwing his hat into the ring. Qualifying went well and there were no incidents to speak of for the division which is always nice when all new people are learning about each other and for many at a track which they have never been on. Team HRE had multiple problems but all were fixed and we will be ready to go for the gold on this Saturday’s race program as we were unable to complete the program due to rain this past week. To all those who are still calling, I appreciate all the feedback and interest in the new division and to all those who keep badmouthing it, the proof is in the car count! Give the racers what they are asking for and they will respond even in this poor economy.
